'Delighted' couple Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall have posed for a series of informal pictures at their Gloucestershire home, after announcing their engagement yesterday. SPARKLING CELEBRITY ENGAGEMENT RINGS The pair are set to tie the knot after Mike popped the question at their home on Monday night, following a seven-year relationship. And the newly engaged couple look blissfully happy in the typically relaxed pictures – a world away from Prince William and Kate Middleton's formal engagement snaps. Bundled up against the cold, the pair donned jeans and cosy coats to step outside in the snow, laughing and giggling as they beamed for the cameras.
And Zara was more than happy to show off her glittering diamond and platinum sparkler.
The bride-to-be revealed she was 'shocked,' at her rugby player beau's proposal, but 'very happy'. 'I was really shocked when Mike proposed but I am very happy', she revealed, while he added: 'I am delighted that Zara has agreed to marry me. We are both very excited about the next stage in our lives together.'
The announcement comes less than eight weeks after Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement, and yesterday Buckingham Palace said the Queen was 'delighted' to hear that another of her grandchildren is to marry. The royal pair are yet to set a date for the big day, but it's thought they'll steer clear of the first half of the year, following William and Kate's big day in April.
