Ring Sales Rise Before Valentine's day Posted: 13 Feb 2011 06:56 AM PST Couples all the over the country will be getting engaged on Valentine's Day, and that means big business for local jewelery stores. Shannon Dalton of Wickersham Jewelry in Rothschild says couples have been coming in to find the perfect ring. This year, he says they tend to be in search of simple rings with just one diamond. "We've had quite a few calls for actually half carat, 3/4 carat and up," said Dalton. "They're bigger diamonds this year, even carat sizes that are being sold on simpler mountings." He says in the past, couples were in search of rings with multiple diamonds on them. This year, couples are looking for more of a classic look. Other hot items this year include colored diamonds such as pink, black and white.
